Invitation to the Spring Gathering 2017
The theme of the Gathering is ‘Sustainability – living sustainably as individuals and as a community’.
We will explore this throughout the week through group sessions, smaller workshops, and community engagement.
We do not own the world and its riches, and they are not ours to take as we please. Throughout the week we will discuss how we can live by this, and how we can maintain the world for future generations to enjoy as we do.
We will also explore the minute produced at the FWCC World Conference 2016 in Peru which states that “Our faith as Quakers is inseparable from our care for the health of our planet Earth”.
We will use this as a basis to deepen our communal and individual understanding of sustainability and will explore the possibilities of sustainable living through learning from one another.
Spring Gathering will also include guest speakers, excursions, workshops and worship as well as lots of time for games, talking, reflection and chances to explore the beautiful area surrounding our venue.
The fee for participation is £110 or €130. This includes accommodation and food.
In line with our theme for the week, we ask for a contribution towards “Trees for Africa” in regards to the ecological cost of travelling. The contributions are as follows, and we ask participants to add this contribution onto the fee for the week:
Travel by train: £1/€1
Travel by car: £5/€5
Travel by flight: £8/€8
Information about how to pay will be sent to participants after registration.
Bursaries for fees and/or travel will be available, but before applying for a bursary, we would ask you to approach your local, monthly and yearly meeting for (partial) funding, if possible.
To apply for a bursary through EMEYF please contact the EMEYF Secretary via email@example.com
